Walker's Birthday Party

Walker had a great birthday. He spent part of the day reading his new comic book at the park, then we went to eat pizza and he got some awesome firefighter gear.

It was a beautiful day for his birthday party, and many of his school friends joined him at Castle Park to run around and eat cake/fruit pops. Later, family and close friends came back to our house to continue the celebration. It was a great day!

Vacation Video

We had a great trip to New Mexico last week. We ate good food, saw great friends, and enjoyed spending time in the mountains. Here's a video of some of the highlights.

Feeding Baby

Findley loves to take care of her baby.  Here she is feeding her some pancakes and eggs. Apparently, Baby doesn't like carrots.

Little Drummer Boy

Walker got a drum kit from his aunt, uncle, and cousins for Christmas this year.  He loves it!  Here's a montage of a couple of songs, including the song he danced to during his Christmas performance, as well as the Arthur theme song.  Rock on!

Christmas Performance

Last Friday, the kids took part in their school's Christmas performance.  Findley sang one song with her class, and Walker sang two.  They both did a great job!

River(walk) Dance

A couple of weeks ago, we went to Sea World with our friends Asher and Geneva and their parents.  For dinner one night, we enjoyed the sights and sounds of the River Walk.  Here are the kids dancing to some pan flute music.

Big Slide

To celebrate Henry's birthday, we went to a new bounce house place. They had a really tall slide that the kids loved. Here's a video of Dad going off the end of the slide and landing on the floor. We had a great time!

More Drumming

As we've said before, Walker loves to drum. And he's getting pretty good at it. Here he is playing on his cousin Zoe's trap set.

Walker and the Uncles Tio, aka La Famindlia

Walker and Uncle Tio have been jamming out the past few times they've hung out. Uncle Tio made some drums for Walker and they get into a groove of 12-bar blues. Walker is already learning the rock-and-roll lifestyle... watch him take a shot of milk halfway through the set. Thanks to Uncle Tio for producing this video!

Dancing Spiderman

Last weekend, we went to Byron, Tiffany, and Cooper's house for dinner and fun. Walker loved playing Just Dance, and at one point he put on a Spiderman mask and watched himself in the mirror as he got his groove on. Here he is dancing along with Tiffany, Andrea, Cooper and Reece.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Walker learned a new Thanksgiving song at school. It took a couple of tries for him to do the whole thing for us, but eventually he got it.

Swinging with Papa Gator

A couple of weeks ago, Walker spent the night with Marmee and Papa Gator. Walker and PaGator worked on their aerobatic routine and showed it off for us.

London Bridge

Walker has been singing a lot of the songs he learns at school. Here's his rendition of London Bridge. He seems to think the last line is, "My poor lady."

Dinner Fun

Mama was gone for the evening, so Dad and the kids had some fun at dinnertime. Findley is starting to get the hang of playing "Where's Findley?"

Findley can't get enough swinging. She especially loves the big swing in the backyard, and she's always good about holding on tight!

Findley Walking

Longtime readers of this blog probably recall that some of Walker's first recorded steps occurred at the doctor's office.  Well, Findley is following in his footsteps, quite literally.  While she and I waited for the doctor to come in yesterday, she took a couple of strolls across the room.

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Walker's current favorite song is Itsy Bitsy Spider. He sings it a lot at school, and he sings it for us a few times a day with hand signs and everything. He sang it for me yesterday in the truck and I was able to record it. The camera operator messed up on the second video, so only the end of the song was recorded. But I'm including that video to show what happens when we ask him to sing a song. He only does it when he feels like it!

I'm happy to report that Findley had a great birthday.  She was supposed to get immunizations at the doctor, but an insurance mixup gave her a reprieve on the shots until next week.  So she and Dad spent a couple of hours in the backyard, enjoying the cooler weather.  Then Marmee came over to spend the afternoon with her, and she got to see Granny and Granddaddy this evening.  It's been a wonderful day!
