Weekend Trip

This weekend we went north to see Marmee (formerly known as Emma) and Gator. We went to Zander's 4th birthday party, and Walker got to put on his shades and swing in the backyard:

Everyone thought it would be cute if Walker sat in Zander's new dumptruck, so Dad put him in:

Later that day, Mom and Walker went to Tiffany's baby shower:

On Sunday, Walker got to hang out with Poppa and his Aunt Mary:

Dad also got a good shot of Walker and Mom hanging out:

That afternoon, we went to Fuzzy's Tacos and met up with Andrea, Larry, Jenny and Phil:

Walker got fussy as soon as Phil held him, so unfortunately we didn't have a chance to take any photos. We gave Walker a stern talking-to, and he promises to be in a better mood next time he sees you, Phil.

Finally, before we came back home, Walker hung out for a photo shoot. Marmee got a good photo of Walker and Gator's hands, and Walker in his blue hat:

Father's Day Fun

On Father's Day, Walker sent a message to Gator, Poppa and Pawpaw, since he couldn't see them that day:

That morning, Mom made Dad some French Toast and sent him on a Father's Day scavenger hunt to find his gift: a new rocking chair for the front porch! Now Dad can sit on the porch with a mason jar of tea and wave to the neighbors:

Later that day, we had visitors. Granddaddy, Granny, Aaron, Marnie, Zoe and Harper all came over for dinner to celebrate Father's Day. Granddaddy took some time getting the group photo set up just perfectly:

On the final shot, it looked like the camera was pointing too high, so Granddaddy told everyone to "get higher!"

New Toys and New Chair

Poppa gave Walker some toys that he rescued from the Crane Game. He had so much fun with them, he got worn out and Mom snapped this shot while he was napping.

And Walker has gotten so good at holding his head up, he can sit in his Bumbo chair. He's excited about this, because from his very first day he's enjoyed sitting up more than laying down. It gives him a better vantage point to check out everything going on around him!

Walker Helping Mom with Her Abs

Mom has always been a big fan of exercise equipment. She's a collector of Yoga mats, rubber band stretching thingys, and Pilates videotapes. Imagine how excited she was when she figured out that she can play with Walker AND use him as an exercise accessory!

We love how smiley he is in this video. He smiles like this all the time, but usually he stops when he sees the camera because he gets distracted.

Walker Not Rolling Over

We love playing with Walker. He's always so happy during playtime. And he does all sorts of new tricks all the time! Unfortunately, he rarely does any of his new tricks when we have the camera out, so his public doesn't get to share the excitement with us very often.

In fact, just the other day he rolled over onto his stomach for the first time. So we got out the camera, hoping to catch the maneuver again. As you might expect, Walker was not interested in giving a repeat performance.

Learning to Use His Hands

Walker has suddenly realized that he has control over his hands, and has been starting to bat at objects and grab at fingers (Dad thinks that the pull my finger joke will never get old). Here he is in Burleson playing before bedtime.

Walker Meets Mama Lou and Allison

Walker got to meet his great-grandmother Mama Lou last weekend.

He also met his great aunt Allison.

Walker Out and About

Walker has had an exciting past couple of weeks. We all went out to celebrate Bryan's birthday, and he hung out with Asher and Delilah:

He went to Burleson again to see Paw-Paw:

He also got to meet Sara, Ricky and Harper:

Walker Sleeping

When Walker sleeps, he loves to put his arms up above his head. If we try to put his arms down by his side, he puts them back.

Freight Train

Last week, Mom and Dad went out for the evening. We went to see The Flatlanders and Ryan Bingham at the Texas Union Ballroom. While Walker hung out at home, Granny and Granddaddy taught him some new songs. Here he is, learning Freight Train from Granny.

Poker Party

Walker went to his first poker party last weekend. He had a great time and did pretty well for a rookie.

Oh, and his eyes aren't doing that because of the camera flash. They really looked like that. It totally distracted the other players, and they absolutely could not determine when he was bluffing.

Walker on his mat

Mom shot this video of Walker a couple of weeks ago while he was hanging out on his mat in the living room.

Walker's First Date!

Last week, Walker went with Mom to visit Livy, Asher, Brynne and Delilah.

Walker and Delilah hung out on the blanket together and got to know each other.

Brynne and Delilah were visiting from Michigan, and Delilah is a week and a half older than Walker. Apparently Walker goes for older women, just like his dad.

Happy Birthday Gator!

To celebrate Gator's birthday, Walker scooped out some vanilla Blue Bell and covered it in Hershey's syrup. It's his favorite. Astute readers will observe that there are exactly SIX candles on the sundae. There's a very good reason that there are exactly SIX candles on it. Each candle represents ten years of Gator... that's right, it's his SIXTIETH birthday!
