Hiking with Findley

This morning, Findley had to stay home from school because she had a fever late last night. The antibiotics for her ear infection were already kicking in, and she seemed to feel okay this morning. So she and I set off for a hike in the woods. We saw squirrels, lizards, turtles, cows, and longhorn steers. We thought we heard a deer, but it ran away too fast for us to see it.

She started off in the backpack facing backwards.

She wasn't too thrilled with that configuration, so made a pit stop and turned her facing forward. That was a lot better for her, because she now she could see where we were going, instead of just seeing where we've been.

We stopped at the top of a ridge to make a quick video:

By the time we started heading back to the truck, Findley was falling asleep:
