A quick stop-motion video of Walker making an escape. He's gotten good at this.

Drying Off
After a nice long bath, Mom dried Walker off with a hooded towel made for him by our friend Katie. Walker has already pretty much outgrown all of the infant hooded towels we have, and this one fits perfectly.

Bathtime!
After an exceptionally messy dinnertime, we took Walker straight to the bathtub. He absolutely loves taking a bath. He's good about holding still while we get him cleaned off, and then he splashes and plays until almost all of the water has splashed out of the tub.
Tomorrow night: cute photos of Walker in his hooded towel, drying off!

After-Dinner Mess
A few nights ago, Walker was extra sleepy during dinner. When he's tired, he tends to rub his eyes and flail his arms. He also likes to suck his thumb between bites. All of these facts added up to a very messy dinner time.
Click on the images to see all of the squash-in-the-eyebrows detail, and stay tuned for tomorrow's post to see how he got cleaned off.

Daddy Reading to Walker
Spencer was reading Where the Sidewalk Ends to Walker the other night. Walker was laying so still, sucking his thumb, and concentrating on the book, so I went to get my camera. But, as soon as I got back, Walker started crawling around. So, instead of a sweet picture of father reading to son, I got this "drunkin' elf" picture. But, he's still cute!!

Walker's Great Escape
On Saturday, while Mama was getting dressed, Walker was playing on the floor of her bedroom. He quickly found his school bag and headed for the door!
He was ready to go, and I just wasn't moving fast enough for him. I guess this is a glimpse of what my life will be like for the next few years--trying to keep up with Walker.

More Tailgate Fun
The weather at our Longhorn tailgate parties has been all over the place this year. The day of the UTEP game was hot and sunny, and we stayed under the canopy while watching football games and horsing around.
The day we played Colorado, it didn't get above 60 degrees and the sun never came out. We stayed bundled up and enjoyed the cool weather.
We also enjoyed watching the Aggies lose on the trailer Brian built. We're now able to store the TV and beer coolers while we're at the game to keep them from "walking away." Brian's hard work has made us the envy of the other tailgaters.

Walker's First Carrots
So Walker started eating solid foods about two weeks ago, and we've been slowly introducing new things for him to try. Potatoes were first, then bananas, apples, and avocados. He loved them all. Next we tried carrots. These he does not seem to like at all. We feel bad for laughing at his reaction, but we think it's hilarious. A couple of nights after this video, he had sweet potatoes and loved them. We're glad he trusted us again after this episode.
