When Walker gets tired, he can get completely slap happy. And it's sometimes tough to get him to fall asleep because he's so wired. So sometimes we have to load him in the car and drive around for a while to get him to sleep. This video captures some of his sleep-deprived insanity, and it's one of the few videos in which he doesn't notice the camera, at least not until the very end.

Taking a Nap

It's sometimes really difficult to get Walker to take a nap. He wants to be awake and seeing everyone, and is afraid he'll miss something while he's asleep. But when he does sleep, he's out cold. And he loves to sleep on his stomach when he naps. No matter how many times we roll him onto his back, he just goes right back to his stomach.

Apparently, Walker believes that thumb-sucking is a two-handed job. Or maybe he thinks that the thumb is going to get away if he doesn't hold it in place with his other hand. Whatever the reason, it's mighty cute.

Walker spent some time relaxing in his new outfit and enjoying the new swing.

Walker's First Day at Daycare

Today was Walker's first day at daycare. Dad had to go out of town for work, so Mom had to drop him off by herself. He's not used to being up and going so early in the morning, so he was pretty tired when he got there.


Miss Terry was happy to see Walker, and he was happy to see her too, because like Will Rogers, Walker has never met a (wo)man that he didn't like.



Soon he was bouncing in the jumper and playing with all the toys.



Overall, it was a pretty good day. Miss Terry reported that Walker was somewhat fussy during the morning because he didn't want to take a nap. He never seems to want to take naps, which is strange considering that his parents are world-class nappers. The napping gene must be skipping a generation. He did better in the afternoon, and was super happy to see mom when she came to pick him up.
