Happy Birthday, Findley!

Findley, we took these photos of you a few days before your second birthday.  We're getting them posted here a few days after your birthday, because we were so busy during your birthday weekend with lots of friends and family around.

You are so much fun, and sometimes we would love for you to stay this age.  But we also can't wait to watch you become a smart, beautiful, caring young woman.  You warm our hearts and we love you so much.

Not Ready

Walker has gotten pretty good at using the bathroom, but once a week or so he has an accident.

Mama:  "Walker, did you poop in your pants?"

Walker:  "I'm not ready to talk about that right now."

We can't wait for his potty skills to catch up with his language skills.

Big Slide

To celebrate Henry's birthday, we went to a new bounce house place. They had a really tall slide that the kids loved. Here's a video of Dad going off the end of the slide and landing on the floor. We had a great time!

Family Discussion

Leann: "Walker, please stop doing that." (None of us even remember what started this conversation.)

Walker: "Mama, don't be mean to me."

Findley: "Walker, Mama nice guy."

Walker: "No, Findley, Mama is being mean."

Hugs from Granny and Grandaddy

When we left Granny and Granddaddy's house a few weeks ago, we tried to get a photo of them with both kids. We were not successful, but we got some good shots of them separately. Maybe next time we can get a good picture of all of us together.

Climber

A few weeks ago, we went to New Mexico to see Granny and Granddaddy's new house. They've got a great backyard for the kids to run around and play. Walker especially loved climbing the big pine tree and balancing on a stump.

Brushing Teeth

We love taking photos of the kids as soon as they've come out of the bath with freshly-brushed hair. It's the only time of the day they look this clean!

Awesome Find

One last Easter photo, because I love this one so much. Walker was so excited to find this egg on the swing!

Fun Kids

It's so hard to describe how much fun these kids are. They make us laugh constantly, and they are so incredibly sweet to each other. Here are a couple of photos from dinner tonight.

Easter Dress

Findley wore this cute dress at Easter. It was so dirty by the end of the day!

Easter Eggs

We have so many great photos that we intended to share, but we've been so busy we haven't had a chance to get them on the blog. So over the next couple of weeks, we're going to share some of our favorite random shots, hopefully at least one per day.

Today's photo is from Easter.  Our friend Asher came over to hunt for eggs, and the kids found some awesome stuff inside of them.

Speed Demons

Our neighborhood elementary school has a large concrete basketball court that is perfect for the kids to learn to ride their bikes. Walker gets better every day at pedaling and steering, though he's still learning how to brake. Findley rides her horse because she doesn't have a bike yet (though with her birthday approaching next month, I suspect that will change soon).

Face Painting

The kids never miss an opportunity to get their faces painted. At an outdoor concert last weekend, Findley asked to be a cat, and Walker wanted to be the robot from Iron Giant.

Keeping Cool

The kids went over to Marmee and Pa Gator's house a couple of weeks ago, and they had fun playing in the water outside. They were being really sweet to each other, and stopped long enough to look into the camera. This is one of our favorite recent photos.

Riding Bikes

The kids love to take the bike to a nearby parking lot and practice cruising around. Walker has gotten really good at pedaling... so good that we had to chase him a couple of times! Findley will get the hang of it before long.
